Best bang for buck
By Scott | on Saturday, December 05, 2020
I bought this car new 7 years ago. I was 21 years old and wanted something sporty, 4 doors, comfortable, and good in the ohio winters. The wrx checked every box. It was daily driven for the first 4 years without a single mechanical issue. All that I've had to do is put tires on it and change the oil. Now it sits in the garage for weeks at a time but never fails to start and put a smile on my face when driving it.… - 5.0
Fun to drive, great mpg, safe, comfy, reliable
By Tomboy Mom | on Thursday, August 15, 2019
Bought this new for my son, and I drove it for the first month or so while he was away. It's very fun to drive! Excellent handling, nimble and solid. Good steering feel. Corners well. Rides smooth over bumpy roads. Great in all weather, including snow, on and off pavement. 35+ mpg, always, even around town. For AWD that's amazing. It has great crash test ratings. It's an extremely comfortable and well-appointed vehicle for its price. Heated seats, for example, and they are comfy. And the cabin is soundproofed well. The hatchback squeaks now and then over bumps. But apart from that, there have been zero problems in this vehicle's life so far. I'd call that very reliable. And my son loves it.… - 4.0
Solid vehicle if AWD is needed
By Bob | on Thursday, January 23, 2020
The Impreza is a solid choice if you need AWD. It also offers some unique architecture for the class (flat, longitudinal mounted engine). Mine so far (knock on wood) has had excellent reliability. There have been some fit and finish issues however. The fabric on the driver's side lumbar seat wore through prematurely (dealer fixed for free). The driver's side door handle that's integrated into the plastic molding became brittle and fell off. A new molding was $350 so I just repaired it myself. The biggest drawback is that the CVT can occasionally be sluggish off the line. So if you need a reliable AWD vehicle in the $20k price range for communing and family transportation the Impreza is definitely worth a look.…
